FAQ BRAKES:

Q. Where can I find information to rebuild/clean and bleed my brakes: A. Bike brake work p99659hlbleedingfromsearch1#entry99659 Link on brake bleeding

Q. How do I get my front brakes to release? A. The tiny fluid return hole in the bottom of the master cylinder is probably blocked, or the piston seals are dirty. Best to do a complete MC rebuild and/or a caliper rebuild. In an emergency, try opening the bleed screw and let pressure release. Another reason why hydraulic brakes do not release is the rubber hose collapses internally. Here is a link to a picture of a brake hose.jpg collapsed brake hose.jpg.

Q. Cheap Brake Crush Washer or How to fix them? A: Use 10mm auto washers or heat them red hot on a brick to anneal them and then let them cool. Be careful not to melt the washer.....keep the flame back a bit. http://choppercharle...m/cs/forums/751

Q. How much play should the rear brake pedal have before the brake engages? A. This is a somewhat personal thing. Some like a almost instant brake application, while others prefer a longer throw before the brake engages.
